Your Weekly Spotify Stats: Track Your Music Evolution Week by Week

rigtch.fm

Why Weekly Stats Matter

A year is too long. A day is too short. A week is the perfect window for understanding your listening habits.

Weekly stats capture enough activity to show real patterns without drowning you in noise. Did you discover new music this week? Did you listen more or less than usual? Which genres dominated? These questions are best answered on a weekly cadence.

What a Weekly Report Looks Like

Every week, rigtch.fm generates a detailed report for your listening activity. Here's what's inside.

Listening Days Chart

A visual breakdown of your listening activity across each day of the week. See at a glance which days had the most plays and which were quieter.

This chart quickly reveals your patterns. Maybe you listen heavily on Monday and Tuesday (getting through the work week), dip on Wednesday, and pick back up on weekends. Over time, these patterns become remarkably consistent - or reveal interesting shifts.

Play Count Trends

Your total plays for the week, compared to the previous week. See whether your listening went up, down, or stayed flat.

You also get your average plays per day, which smooths out the noise from individual high or low days. A week where you averaged 35 plays/day tells a different story than a week averaging 12.

Most Listened Day

Which single day had the highest play count? This is your peak listening day for the week. Over time, you'll notice if certain days of the week consistently win (spoiler: for most people, it's Friday or Saturday).

Newly Discovered

This is one of the most unique metrics in weekly reports. For each week, rigtch.fm calculates:

  • New artists % - how many of the artists you listened to were ones you'd never played before
  • New albums % - same for albums
  • New tracks % - same for tracks

A week with 45% new tracks means almost half your listening was fresh music. A week with 5% means you were deep in comfort-listening mode. Neither is better - but the trend over time shows how your listening behavior evolves.

Genre Activity

A day-by-day breakdown of which genres dominated your listening. Each day is split into genre segments, showing you the distribution visually.

This reveals context-dependent listening. Maybe electronic dominates your weekdays (focus music) while indie rock takes over on weekends (leisure listening). Or maybe a new genre discovery causes a sudden spike mid-week.

Patterns You'll Discover

After a few weeks of tracking, patterns emerge:

The Monday Reset - many listeners start their week with familiar, comfortable music before branching out later in the week.

The Friday Spike - play counts tend to peak on Fridays for many users, coinciding with new music releases and weekend energy.

Discovery Waves - most people don't discover new music at a constant rate. It comes in waves: a burst of exploration followed by weeks of digesting and replaying what you found.

Seasonal Shifts - comparing weekly reports across months shows gradual genre migration. Your winter listening probably looks different from your summer listening.

Making the Most of Weekly Reports

Check in every Monday. Your previous week's report is ready. A quick glance takes 30 seconds and keeps you connected to your listening patterns.

Compare across weeks. Is your discovery rate trending up or down? Are your total plays consistent or volatile? Trends across multiple weeks tell you more than any single week.

Use it for music goals. Want to discover more new music? Watch your "newly discovered" percentages and consciously explore when they dip. Want to deepen your knowledge of a genre? Track whether its share in your genre activity is growing.
